Kansas City Chiefs
Andy Reid was an impressive 17-3 coming off a bye week heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Raiders, and the Kansas City Chiefs added another to his win column as the 40-9 beatdown at Arrowhead secured the top spot in the AFC West for now. At 8-4, the Chiefs now control their destiny in winning the division outright with four weeks of football left.
The domination at Arrowhead was not done by the magic of Patrick Mahomes alone, in reality, it was a culmination of blunders and poor execution at the hands of their rivals. The Raiders won the rushing battle and yet two costly interceptions by Carr, a questionable call on fourth and one by Jon Gruden, and 12 penalties by the Raiders in contrast to none by the Chiefs sealed Oakland’s fate.
The Chiefs now split their remaining schedule with two games at home and two on the road. Of their final month of football, the New England Patriots are the lone threat to account for, whom the Chiefs will visit next week.
