It was a battle for the top spot in the AFC West as a beatdown commenced at Arrowhead Stadium. Here’s the week that was for the Oakland Raiders and the rest of the division.
No one expected that come Week 13 of the regular season, the stage would be set at Arrowhead Stadium for the top spot in the AFC West. Furthermore, no one could have predicted the top spot would be up for grabs between the presumed favorite Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders, who were dealt an unforgiving schedule of road games on top of a season that started with headlines off the field.
And yet the Chiefs at 7-4 and Raiders at 6-6 faced off for the second instance this season, this time for the top spot in the division and for the advantage of controlling their own destiny in the playoff race. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos faced off with each other for the second time as well, with the loser being dealt the bottom spot in the division standings.
For the four AFC West teams on Sunday, one game resulted in domination from start to finish, while the other ended in a heartbreaking loss that has become all too familiar.
