Curtis Riley

When Johnathan Abram went down week one, Curtis Riley had a great opportunity to make a strong case for his future with the organization. Also with Lamarcus Joyner‘s struggles, there certainly is room for improvement within Oakland’s defensive backfield.

However, the four-year veteran didn’t capitalize and played his way onto the bench.

When targeted, Riley has given up a passer rating of 149.3, 22.8 yards per completion and three touchdowns. In weeks four through ten, the Fresno State alum played a total of two defensive snaps and is nothing more than a special teams player at this point.

Of course, special teams are important, but the Raiders would be better off taking a flier on another player who can help their defense.
