Darren Waller

A lot has been made about the Raiders’ wide receivers in recent weeks and rightfully so as there has been a lack of production from the group. The fact of the matter is no one is going to walk through the door and magically make the wideouts better, so the team has to rely on other players or position groups to be effective in the passing game. Luckily, Oakland has found a pretty good tight end in Darren Waller.

Waller is one of the most productive players at his position – ranks second in yards and third in catches – and is a virtual lock for the Pro Bowl and/or All-Pro team. Last week, the veteran accounted for 100 of the team’s 147 receiving yards and is the only consistent pass-catcher on the roster. Of course, other guys need to step up but the emerging superstar will need to replicate this performance against the Music City.

Tennessee has an excellent counter for the tight end with safety Kevin Byard. The former All-Pro is putting together another impressive season as he allows a passer rating of 58.6 when targeted and has four interceptions on the year. Since both guys are arguably the best player on their respective teams, this matchup will be very fun watch and crucial to the outcome of the game.
