Playoff Hopes Done
Making the playoff was going to be a considerable over-achievement, but the Raiders had a real shot three weeks ago at 6-4. But things have taken an abrupt turn in this three-game losing streak, and they now sit a 6-7 with those hopes virtually destroyed.
The Raiders have been getting away with a negative point differential for most of the season, so there were signs that it could go bad, but no one expected this.
And even with very winnable games to finish the season, this team has provided very little evidence as of late that they have what it takes to finish strong. Hopefully, they can find a way to rebound at least next week in the home finale. The Oakland fans have been so dedicated despite the struggles this franchise has endured for the better part of the 2000s.
An unexpected playoff berth would have been an incredible gift for the fans as the team heads to Las Vegas, but with that gone, they at least deserve a win in the home finale.
The Raiders came with great energy last season against the Denver Broncos when they thought it might be the last game in Oakland, so it would be nice to see a repeat of that.
