Stud: Lamarcus Joyner

In a game where the defense gave up over 500 yards and 35 points, it is difficult to highlight strengths within that unit. However, one player who stood out in the game was Lamarcus Joyner, who will have to be a big piece for this defense moving forward.

Joyner, one of the defensive captains who has had his share of criticism this season, performed well yesterday, allowing just two receptions on three targets for twenty yards. In addition, the veteran defensive back recorded three tackles.

Joyner brings a physicality that inspires the team defensively and should garner more time as his hamstring injury looks to be fully healed. There are a few games left for Joyner to make a big statement, and based on Gruden’s press conference on Monday, a lot of changes are coming to that side of the ball.
