Kenneth Murray, LB Oklahoma

There’s no doubt that linebacker has been a huge need for the Oakland Raiders for a long time coming. I remember thinking we were finally saved when Rolando McClain came into the picture and then changing the name plate on my 55 jersey from his to Sio Moore, as if that was going to fix all the problems.

Murray would be a big step in that right direction though. He is what the new aged linebacker is trending towards. He’s versatile enough to work sideline to sideline and cover backs out of the backfield, and aggressive enough to stop the run and pressure the QB on blitzes.

He would be a great centerpiece to a defense that had other young talent to grow along with him. With guys like Johnathan Abram in the secondary, and the young defensive ends the Raiders have up front, adding a quality young player to the second level of the defense would be another step in the right direction for this Raiders defense.
