Monty Rice, LB Georgia

On the flip side of that scenario, if the Raiders decided to chose a defensive back with one of their two 1st round picks, one linebacker they could look to target in the 3rd round is Monty Rice from Georgia. He has the talent to play inside, which is something the Raiders are desperately lacking at this point.

Rice is your typical inside linebacker. He is a big bruiser type guy who’s going to stuff the gaps and be the quarterback out on the field for the defense. He isn’t as fast as some of the guys projected to go ahead of him, but he is regarded as the leader of one of the best defenses in country.

There is really a slim chance that Vontaze Burfict is back with the team next season, and Tahir Whitehead is having a rough season in Year 2 in the Silver and Black. An addition like Rice would add some much needed talent and depth to a big position of need.
