Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders: 3 bold predictions
By Kenny King
A fan will rush the field
I’m not saying to do this, but I am saying that it could possibly be done. As we saw last year in what fans thought would be the final game at the Oakland Coliseum, security and police lined up in anticipation for a fan storm of the field.
This year, knowing that this will be the last game ever played in Oakland, the emotions of the fans, the atmosphere and the pregame festivities may propel someone to have the bright idea to take the field. DON’T DO IT. We saw a fan in future Hall of Fame defensive back’s final game in Oakland run out on the field to give Woodson a hug and was met by security and Alameda County Sheriff’s and escorted out of the stadium.
We also saw a fan make his way onto the field in the final home game of the season last season. This will truly be an emotional event for fans, there will be people there who have witnessed every Super Bowl trip, win, loss and snub and there will also be fans who’s only memory of a winning season was the fateful 2016 year in which the Raiders playoff run was crushed the moment Derek Carr’s leg was broken on Christmas eve.
Like I said before, if you are thinking of rushing the field…..don’t.
