Offensive line hobbled and outplayed

Oakland got a first-hand look at the player they possibly (should) have drafted fourth overall in Josh Allen, but at the end of the day it was Yannick Ngakoue that put pressure on Derek Carr throughout the afternoon. Ngakoue had five solo tackles, two sacks, and a pass deflection. Josh Allen had two solo tackles and a sack himself as Derek Carr was brought down four times in Sunday’s loss.

Granted, the Raiders haven’t fully taken advantage of a healthy offensive line that can be dominant, and Sunday was no exception. With Trent Brown sidelined, it was Brandon Parker filling his place, and it was clear why Parker finds himself below on the depth chart. At the same time, left tackle Kolton Miller was at fault as well at times.

It’s not rocket science to know that to fully unlock the potential of this offense, the offensive line has to be healthy. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case on Sunday, and it was an added layer to a deflating loss in Oakland’s final outing.
