Three Stars

Darren Waller

The Jaguars came into Sunday’s matchup knowing there were two key threats to account for when the Raiders’ offense took to the field. One of those two was number 83, Darren Waller, and yet Oakland’s elite tight end still had his way with Jacksonville’s defense.

Waller caught eight receptions on ten targets for 122 yards. Despite not finding the endzone, Waller was Derek Carr‘s primary target all afternoon.

Josh Jacobs

Despite the uninspired last month of football by the Raiders, it is important to recognize the bright spots that are apparent. Like Waller, Josh Jacobs has been among the positives of this season, and the offensive rookie of the year front runner battled through a fractured shoulder on Sunday. How did he respond after sitting out last week?

24 carries for 89 yards, with two catches for an additional 20 yards. Another week of 100+ total yardage, and again Josh Jacobs gave the team and the fans his all in the last outing in Oakland.

Yannick Ngakoue

The Raiders got an up-close look at a player they could have drafted fourth overall last April in edge rusher Josh Allen. Allen was productive, but it was Yannick Ngakoue that truly disrupted the Raiders all afternoon.

Derek Carr was sacked four times, and Ngakoue personally accounted for two of those, finishing with five solo tackles and a pass deflection. Number 91 for the Jaguars was a big reason Oakland’s offense was stuck in a rut.
