The Oakland Raiders hit the road for their final two games in 2019, first starting with the Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC West battle in Week 16.
The Oakland Raiders have only two games remaining as the “Oakland” Raiders, as they travel to Carson, California to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16. Of course, the Raiders are still technically alive in the playoff race, but they need almost a miracle to clinch the sixth and final seed in the AFC.
Looking at this matchup, this is two teams that have really fallen apart in recent weeks. The Chargers were supposed to be a contender in the AFC this season, but have struggled to play consistent football, mostly due to the fact that Philip Rivers has been a turnover machine in what could be his final season as the starter for the franchise.
The Raiders are losers of four straight games, and have really shot themselves in the foot after looking like a playoff team sitting at 6-4 entering Week 12. The offense has been stagnant, the defense cannot get stops, and it looks like it could be another year under .500 for the Silver and Black.
Quarterback Derek Carr will also be looking to get on the right track, as the fan base has turned on him in recent weeks. He looked to be turning the corner ten games in, but over the last four games, he has just not looked like the same quarterback, no matter what the excuses are.

Oakland would like nothing more than to win out the next two games, and finish their final season in the Bay Area with an 8-8 record. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year anyway, but the hot start got the fan base thinking playoffs, and they just are not there yet as a team.
This is going to be an interesting matchup, as Rivers could be playing his final games as the starter for the Chargers, and it is always a question as to whether or not Carr will be back in 2020. Overall, this has been a disappointing close to the season for the Silver and Black, who can hopefully win two more divisional games before leaving for Las Vegas.
