As well as Jaylon Johnson, Chase Claypool has been a regular in my mock draft for the Raiders. Claypool has incredible size at 6’4 and he knows how to use it. With the Raiders selecting Ruggs in the first round to give them some speed, they need Claypool to add some size, expecting the future of the team to be in Ruggs, Renfrow, and Claypool.
One of the best things the Raiders used to do is throwing fade routes in the end zone, but that has not happened much this year. Claypool would be the perfect type of player to make those catches, as well as any 50/50 balls downfield.
Overall, the entire Raiders wide receiver group could look a lot different next season, with the exception of Hunter Renfrow, a 2019 draft pick. The Raiders have not been able to get consistent play from the entire group throughout the whole season, so adding two wideouts via the NFL Draft, and maybe one in free agency makes sense next offseason.
