Game Preview

The last time these two teams faced off, the Raiders pulled out a 26-24 victory late in the fourth quarter on a Josh Jacobs touchdown run, followed by a game-winning interception from Karl Joseph on the last play of his season.

Philip Rivers greatly struggled against the Raiders defense, as he threw three interceptions, with two being to Erik Harris. Rivers was also sacked on numerous occasions and overall could not get much going.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, they will be without Josh Jacobs and Karl Joseph, two stars from the last game, as well as Pro Bowl right tackle Trent Brown. The Raiders are going to have to play much better than they have in recent weeks if they want to defeat the Chargers without these players.

Philip Rivers and the Chargers have been up and down over the last few weeks. Two weeks ago, the Chargers defeated the Jaguars 45-10 with Philip Rivers throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions. The next week, the Chargers lost to the Vikings 39-10, with Rivers throwing three interceptions.

As of now, we know what the Raiders offense is going to bring, and unfortunately, it is not much. The real question is what Chargers’ offense the Raiders will see. Will Rivers play like the Hall of Fame quarterback that he is and tear the Raiders defense apart, or will he continue his inconsistency and have another multiple turnover game?
