Should Derek Carr be the Raiders quarterback heading into Las Vegas?

No. 2: Gruden’s playcalling
The next blame that I often hear after the receivers are how Jon Gruden is not all that great at play calling or designing. This one can be debunked with some historical facts.
Jon Gruden’s record with quarterbacks not named Derek Carr is 95 – 81, which is a 54% winning percentage, which averages him to a 9-6 record. But what is most important is he’s one of seven active coaches with a Super Bowl ring and he has the 9th best playoff win percentage, among active coaches.
In Gruden’s 11 years as a head coach, prior to coaching the current team, he has had a top-15 scoring offense in eight of his 11 years. I don’t think Jon Gruden is a bad coach. In fact, I’ve seen a few really good play designs from the coach, including the way the Raiders use various angles and techniques to block defensive players and set up big runs.
