Stud: The Defense
The Raiders defense has had its fair share of ups, downs, twist and turns in a virtual rollercoaster ride of a season. In a must-win game, the defense buckled down and gave the Chargers every ounce of effort they had to ensure they did their part to secure an Oakland victory.
New Oakland Raiders defensive signal caller, Will Compton played every defense snap for the Silver and Black and directed traffic while wearing the green dot calling the plays on the field. The change in scheme, allowed the defense to communicate effectively and reduce mistakes.
The Raiders held the Chargers to 19 yards rushing and disrupted the passing game by forcing Rivers to make quick throws due to a strong pass rush in which 2019 4th overall pick, Clelin Ferrell recorded another sack. Even with losing players due to injury, they defense never let off the gas and held on to hold the chargers to 17 points.
