Las Vegas Raiders Wish List for the 2020 season
A Definite answer at quarterback
The conversation around Derek Carr and the future of the quarterback position for Jon Gruden have become a very divisive topic for the Raiders fan base. Whether you are someone who fully supports Carr, wants to move on, or is somewhere the middle, we can all agree we want what will get the Raiders sustained success.
Going into Vegas next season, Gruden needs to make a definite decision on whether Carr is the guy or not. Another season of analyzing every single throw the guy makes and having to answer questions about the future will not bode well longterm. If he wants Carr, continue to give him the weapons necessary for his style of play and give him the full support he needs.
On the flip side, if Gruden wants a change, do it and don’t look back. This coming draft has a lot of potential at the QB position, and the Raiders could make a move for almost any of them outside of Joe Burrow, who is likely to go number one. The free agency move just seems like a temporary solution, that will bring more uncertainty unless someone like Dak Prescott somehow actually hits the market. So, it’s probably better to just pick between Carr or a draft prospect.
The exhausting will they or won’t they with Carr have been happening for too long, and the Raiders can’t go on much longer with this. There are no guarantees regardless of the decision you make, but that is what you pay Gruden big money for, to make these calls.
