Hunter Renfrow

Part of the reason people argue over Derek Carr’s performance is the lack of depth/talent within Oakland’s receiving core. This issue was extremely apparent during the last three weeks as Renfrow recovered from a rib injury. Luckily, the rookie is back in action and has already made a significant impact.

Last Sunday, the fifth-round pick had seven catches, one touchdown, and the first triple-digit performance of his life. It’s no coincidence that the game was one of the offense’s best performances in recent weeks. Oakland needs wideout to replicate his efforts this weekend, but he will face some stiff competition.

Denver typically relies on backup safety Will Parks to cover the slot in their nickel package. The defensive back has been impressive in coverage this season allowing a completion percentage of 58, a passer rating of 88.8, and only two touchdowns when targeted. It will be a difficult task but the Raiders need Renfrow to get some separation because the rest of the position group clearly struggles to pick up the slack.
