4 reasons the Oakland Raiders beat the Denver Broncos in Week 17
By Nick Ellis
The Raiders win upfront
Important games are won in the trenches, and the Raiders win this battle. Last time Oakland played Denver, Derek Carr did not get touched. Even without Trent Brown, the Raiders should be able to hold their own against the Denver pass rush.
On the other side of the ball, the Raiders will have a chance to get after Drew Locke. The Broncos allow 2.6 sacks per game, and I would expect Maxx Crosby to get to the QB often this game. The Raiders young pass rush has improved game after game, and they will go out with a bang in the final game of the season.
Playing meaningful games in December is not something this fan base is used to since the 2002 season, so sit back and enjoy Sunday afternoon. All games that matter in order for the Raiders to make the playoffs will kick off at the same time, so you can expect Raider Nation to have one heck of a Sunday night if they pull this thing off.
