4. Week 12, 2014 24-20 victory over Kansas City

Fans remember 2014 for the draft, landing Khalil Mack and Derek Carr with their first and second round picks respectively. The regular season was like a nightmare after a wonderful dream, however, as the team dropped their first ten contests in embarrassing fashion. The Derek Carr era was not off to a promising start, and it wasn’t supposed to get any easier as the Silver and Black limped into a Thursday night game in the Coliseum.

Under the lights on prime time, the Raiders jumped out to a 14-3 lead at halftime. In true Raiders fashion, however, they were outscored 17-3, resulting in the Chiefs taking a 20-17 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Carr had a chance to lead his first fourth quarter comeback of his career, and he did just that. Carr diced up the Chiefs secondary and found wide receiver James Jones in the end zone to take a  24-20 lead with 1:42 remaining in the game.

The defense had to hold, and hold they did. Remember when Sio Moore and Khalil Mack were celebrating a sack behind the line of scrimmage and the great veteran Justin Tuck had to take a time out to prevent the team from being called offside? Yep, that was this classic game that resulted in Carr’s first win as an Oakland Raider.
