3. Detroit Lions: CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio State

Some mock drafts will have the Lions taking an offensive tackle and possibly a quarterback, but that will not happen in 2020. The Lions have three offensive tackles under contract and all of them can possibly start; Taylor Decker, Tyrell Crosby, Ricky Wagner. Matthew Stafford is also a capable quarterback with some good players helping him.

The two positions that the Lions really need to address are defensive line and cornerback, but since they paid Trey Flowers and Mike Daniels, traded for Damon Harrison, and spent draft picks on multiple defensive linemen over the past few years, they will go with a corner.

Fill in Jeffrey Okudah, who although isn’t as much of a sure thing as Young, does check pretty much every box you want to see at the position. He has very good size and length. Also, for his size, he’s very quick with his hips and feet, he can close on any wide receiver very quickly.

In 2019, he allowed a passer rating of 37.6. It also helps when you can press as effective as Okudah. He hasn’t allowed 50 or more yards in any single game this season. The Lions would be wise to take Okudah here.

4. New York Giants: OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia

A lot of fans laughed at the Daniel Jones pick last year, but not anymore, as he threw for over 300 yards in five of his 12 games. In addition, he threw for four or more touchdowns in three of those 12 games. Jones and Saquon Barkley can lead this team offensively, but in order to do that, you must protect the future of your team.

The Giants will take the best offensive linemen coming out of college football, and that player is Georgia’s Andrew Thomas. He is super consistent and has been one of the most dominant players this past year. In 746 total snaps, he gave up one sack. If that doesn’t convince his dominance, watch his matchups against Julian Okwara, Khalid Kareem and Jonathan Greenard.
