With the No. 12 overall pick in the NFL draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select CeeDee Lamb, making him the first pick ever as the team lands in Sin City. Lamb would immediately become not only the WR1 for the Raiders, but has the skillset to be one of the best young receivers in the NFL right away.

Lamb has it all in a receiver; great route running, terrific hands, and impressive speed. Derek Carr finally gets a legit WR1 to pair with Hunter Renfrow, but the Raiders aren’t done yet with this position group. With their next pick, they continue to add to the wideout group bringing in another elite talent from a big-time program.

Although the Raiders selecting back to back wide receivers in the first round may be unlikely, imagine the explosiveness the Raiders offense would have. Derek Carr would sit behind one of the best offensive lines in the league with Josh Jacobs, a player with the potential to be the best back in football at running back.

The wide receiver group would then be made up of Lamb, arguably the best wide receiver in the draft, Ruggs, the fastest player in the draft, and Hunter Renfrow, one of the most reliable receivers when it comes to third down. Not too mention Darren Waller, arguably the fastest tight end in the league.

Most people will not be happy about this considering the need for defense, but with the amount of cap space the team has, the Raiders can address those needs in free agency, especially if the team cuts a few players, such as Tyrell Williams who would have no cap hit. Ruggs’ speed would be something that Derek Carr has never had the opportunity to work with.
