If I was Mike Mayock, I would do everything in my power to get Isaiah Simmons. In this scenario, the Raiders need to pick before the Panthers, considering they just lost their all-star linebacker, and Simmons is arguably the best talent in the draft at that position group.

The Raiders trade pick #12 (first round) and pick #80 (third round) to the Chargers to move up to the sixth pick of the draft to get their guy. Simmons is exactly what the Raiders need on defense, and this move shows that the team feels they are a few pieces away from contending.

Simmons is a linebacker that can not only tackle, but can cover just about anyone, as well as having the ability to play safety. Giving up a third-round pick to move up a few spots will be worth it for the Raiders, and the trade makes sense for the Chargers too, considering they need a quarterback, and no team between picks six and twelve are likely to select one.
