The Raiders stay on the defensive trend with their fourth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, this time adding another linebacker to the team. Evan Weaver is the type of player that Mike Mayock will likely love, as he reminds me of Maxx Crosby a bit, but in linebacker form.

Weaver is clearly an insanely hard worker, as he has an incredible motor, high football IQ, and shows no quit in him. He may not be the best in coverage, but his tackling skills are among the best in the country, and we all know this defense needs more sure tacklers.

Although the Raiders selected a linebacker in the first, Simmons will likely play all over the field, so the Raiders need a true, conventional linebacker on the field, as well. During his time at Cal, Weaver was a tackling machine, and if there is one position group that could see a complete overhaul this offseason, it is the linebackers.
