Raiders 7-round 2020 Mock Draft: Las Vegas moves up to draft Simmons
By Nick Ellis
The Raiders add another wide receiver to strengthen the group, as they select the 6-foot-4 receiver out of Notre Dame, Chase Claypool. Claypool is a big-bodied receiver that will excel in the red zone for the Raiders. When the Raiders drive downfield, they need to score points, something Claypool is great at doing.
Claypool recorded 13 touchdowns this season, as well as over 1,000 yards. With Higgins, Williams, Renfrow, and Claypool on the field, the Raiders receiving group went from one of the worst in the league to a real strength, and when you couple in their elite tight ends, all of a sudden Derek Carr has everything he needs in the passing game.
Las Vegas is going to want an explosive offense as they move into their new city, and this draft brings in electric playmakers on both sides of the ball. Claypool can flat out go up and get it, and the hope is that the Silver and Black live in the red zone in 2020.
