Raiders 7-round 2020 Mock Draft: Las Vegas moves up to draft Simmons
By Nick Ellis
Patrick Jones II could be a sleeper in this draft, as he had an impressive senior season at Pittsburgh. Jones recorded 8.5 sacks on top of forcing four fumbles. Creating turnovers is arguably the most important part of a defense, and finding a player in the seventh round of the draft is a win in my book.
Last year, the Raiders added two incredibly talented players via the 2019 NFL Draft in Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby. Ferrell, the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, came on strong late, showing he has what it takes to be a solid edge rusher at the NFL level, while Crosby may have been the steal of the draft with his ten sacks.
While this mock draft cost the Raiders one of their picks, they definitely come out a better team, and get one of the better all-around talents this class has to offer. In addition, they get more linebacker help, two solid tight ends, as well as another edge rusher to add to their young, talented group up front. Not bad for Mayock’s second draft.
