Kyle Dugger – Safety, Lenoir-Rhyne

Every heard of Lenoir-Rhyne University?

Me neither, but if you watched the senior bowl practices, you noticed their starting safety Kyle Dugger making plays all week. His ability to cover tight ends and running backs were very impressive and is a skillset the Raiders could absolutely use. And like Jeremy Chinn, Dugger showed the ability to play deep safety and be physical when playing against the run.

Dugger was told by Jim Nagy to be prepared to play both safety and linebacker throughout the week, but he had such a good showing at safety he never left that spot. That lets you know teams were very impressed with the performance he had this week, and the Raiders no doubt saw it as well.

However, given his physicality, he seems fully capable of moving down in the box when needed. This is another hybrid athlete the Raiders should undoubtedly look at on day 2 or 3 of the draft.
