The Las Vegas Raiders have a group of tight ends with high potential heading into next season, and they owe it to the breakout performance of the group in 2019.
With a 7-9 record in 2019, the Las Vegas Raiders improved by three wins in their last season in Oakland, overcoming the hurdles thrown their way both on and off the field. Even though they lost five of their remaining six games, one could argue that the Raiders overachieved given their unforgiving travel schedule, the revolving door at the receiver position, and the lack of impact on defense.
What was clear at the end of last season was that with a few improvements and additions at some key position groups, the Raiders could very well make a leap in Vegas next year.
But one group that emerged last season and will be relied heavily upon next year, was the Raiders group of tight ends. With an emerging star leading the group, another strong rookie standout behind him and with an experienced vet filling out the depth chart, the tight ends became a strength of the Raiders.
And as the Raiders look to make the right step forward, they’ll be relying on the group to build off the expectations they exceeded in 2019.
