Con: He could set the team back in the long-run

With Brady’s age and cost, there is no question that signing him would be a risk. As long as the Raiders draft a quarterback to learn behind him, they will be fine, but if they don’t, they could set the team back even further.

If the Raiders pay Tom Brady, they will be going against what they are trying to build. When Mike Mayock came in, it was clear that he wanted to build through the draft and make the team younger. If Brady comes in, takes money away from potential free agents, and does not produce, the Raiders will be set back even further, halting the momentum that Mayock had been building.

Of course, this is all a guess at this point, as we will have to wait until March at the earliest to see what Brady and the Patriots decide to do. Moving to Las Vegas, the Raiders are going to want to put an elite product on the field, and Brady is still a very good NFL quarterback, but is he really elite anymore? Time will tell.
