Tre Boston

Tre Boston has been one of the best coverage safeties in the NFL over the past three seasons. With 11 interceptions and 16 pass breakups, he’s leading the league in those two categories in his position group. Last season, he only allowed two touchdowns and had three interceptions with an opposing quarterback rating of just over 76.

He also only allowed a 50% completion percentage when targeting him, with only 19 yards after the catch and only 125 yards given up total. It would be hard to name one safety that can say they only allowed 125 total yards on the season when they played Matt Ryan twice and Drew Brees twice, and Aaron Rodgers.

However, there are some weaknesses to his game, as he is kind of a  one-trick-pony. He’s a purely pass coverage safety that doesn’t blitz very well and has tackle issues. Last year he missed 13 tackles with a total of 50 solo tackles and 10 assists.

However, the Raiders had one of the worst pass defenses last year. This would, however, require the Raiders to cut ties with the monster contract they gave to Joyner in the last offseason. However, the contract only provides $17 million in guaranteed money so it wouldn’t be an awful move if the Raiders decided to move that way.
