Round 2 Pick 40: Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia
Original Pick: Trayon Mullen, CB, Clemson
Trayvon Mullen has the chance to be a solid corner in the NFL, but if the Raiders are not going to take Johnathan Abram, Juan Thornhill is a great replacement. Juan Thornhill proved to be one of the best rookies in the class, recording three interceptions, five passes defended, 57 tackles, and one touchdown in his rookie campaign.
In Mullen, many believe the Raiders have found their CB1, as he is not only a talented cornerback, but plays the game with incredible instincts. The cornerback position has been an Achilles Heel for the Raiders franchise for some time now, and they seem to have a solid, young core there heading into 2020.
Abram is likely going to be a special player at the NFL level, but after playing in only one game, we really do not know what he is going to bring to the table. Thornhill is a proven commodity heading into Year No. 2, and to get him in the second round would prove to be an absolute steal.
