Ranked 24th in sacks
The Raiders pass rush improved drastically from 2018 to 2019, as the Raiders added a number of young pass rushers that look to have a bright future. With that being said, they still have a long way to go and a lot of work to do, as they are still towards the bottom of the league in sacks.
The Raiders recorded 32 sacks in 2019, eight less than the division rival Broncos and thirteen less than the Chiefs. The Raiders have potential with their edge rushers, but they could add some help in the interior. The Raiders have solid defensive tackles, but they work more as run stoppers and do not generate enough pressure to the quarterback,
Guys like Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby, Maurice Hurst, and P.J. Hall are building blocks along this defensive line, but the team could still add a player like Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw this April. For all the good the line did in 2019, they have to continue to trend in the right direction, making defensive tackle a possible target in round one.
