The Las Vegas Raiders hold five of the first 91 selections in the 2020 NFL Draft, which should be enough draft capital to land Stefon Diggs in a trade.

Heading into the 2020 NFL season, the biggest hole on the Las Vegas Raiders on the offensive side of the ball is at the wide receiver position. The Raiders currently do not have a legitimate WR1, and that is something they will look to address early in the 2020 NFL Draft, or via free agency.

However, there could be another plan in place for the Raiders, as they could be in the market to swing a blockbuster trade for an elite wide receiver, much like they did last offseason. During the 2019 offseason, the Raiders sent two draft picks to the Pittsburgh Steelers for star wideout Antonio Brown, a move that blew up in the team’s face.

Looking ahead to the new league year, the Raiders should have their eyes set on another of the elite wideouts in the league, this time targeting Minnesota Vikings star Stefon Diggs. This guy has done nothing but produce since coming into the league, and would be a perfect fit for Jon Gruden’s offense.

On Tuesday, FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd spoke about Diggs on his show, and stated how the team is going to move on from him. It was not big surprise that Diggs was unhappy last season, as it was a narrative throughout, and the Raiders have an immediate need for someone atop their depth chart at wide receiver.

Diggs deleted all Vikings related posts from his Instagram on Tuesday, another sign that he is either done in Minnesota, or very unhappy. Either way, the Raiders have an opportunity to jump in and make a deal for his services.

In order to get Diggs from the Vikings, the Raiders would have to put together a better package of picks than they sent to the Steelers for Brown. Mike Mayock sent a third and fifth round pick to the Steelers for AB, an you have to think a first rounder would have to be involved for Diggs’ services this time around.

Only 26-years old, Diggs has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons since the Vikings went out and got Kirk Cousins, though his targets, receptions, and touchdowns were down last season.

Next. CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy could be gone by Raiders No. 12 pick. dark

Las Vegas is likely going to spend one of their two first round picks on the wide receiver position anyway, so why not skip that, trade one of their two first rounders, and get a proven commodity. Remember, Pro Bowl right tackle Trent Brown was already recruiting Diggs during the 2019 NFL season, and with Diggs, Tyrell Williams, and Hunter Renfrow as the top-3 on this Raiders wideout depth chart, the position suddenly becomes a strength.
