Most mock drafts have Patrick Queen being taken either by the Raiders with the 19th pick, or late in the first round. I do not believe that NFL scouts will be as high on Queen as these mock drafts indicate, as the weak linebacker class makes Queen appear better than he is.

Even though I do not want the Raiders to take Queen in this draft, if he is available here, I believe they do. The Raiders need help at linebacker, and Queen is probably the third-best one in the draft class, and thanks to the fact he is coming off a national  title, his championship pedigree will be hard for Mike Mayock to pass up on.

Queen has shown the speed to get around the field, and could possibly be coached up to the point where his speed can be converted into solid coverage ability. The linebacker group is likely to see wholesale changes this offseason, and if Queen slips into the second round, Mayock and company will be waiting with open arms.
