It wouldn’t be a Raiders mock draft without a quarterback, right? If the Raiders go with Derek Carr in 2020, which I believe they will, bringing in a quarterback to compete with Carr and learn the system is important, especially if Carr cannot get this team to the playoffs this season.
Jake Fromm was once looked at as a first-round talent, but after last year, his draft stock has fallen. Fromm has the ability to be good in the NFL right away and may be one of the most pro-ready quarterbacks in the class, as he is extremely accurate, takes care of the ball, and knows how to win games.
Darnay Holmes was an under the radar player in college, but his film speaks for itself, as he was a shutdown player during his time with the UCLA Bruins. Holmes recorded eight interceptions in his college career, showing great athleticism, the ability to be a ballhawk, and is not afraid to make a tackle, either.
Hopefully, the Raiders add a cornerback in free agency, and if they do, look for them to add another corner late in the draft. With how well Trayvon Mullen came on, and Daryl Worley hopefully returning via free agency, as well as youngster Isaiah Johnson and Keisean Nixon, this group has a chance to be special by adding Holmes and a guy like Byron Jones.
