The 2020 NFL Combine continued with the running backs, offensive linemen, and specialists on Friday, and the linemen showed why the class is so highly touted.

The 2020 NFL Combine is in full swing, and after the wide receivers and tight ends got to do their thing on Thursday, it was time for the big fellas to get their work in to kick off the weekend. Friday night was the big uglies and dancing bears chance to show off in Primetime at the combine.

According to several mock drafts it’s possible to see six or seven tackles get selected in round one.  The offensive line talent in this years draft is very good, and there are certainly a ton of teams who need to upgrade along the offensive line.  Louisville tackle, Mekhi Becton is an absolute monster of a man, much like current Raiders right guard, Trent Brown.

Becton is 6 foot 7 inches tall, 364 pounds and ran an unreal 5.11 seconds in the forty yard dash.  That type of movement ability will have offensive line coaches drooling.

Tristan Wirfs dominated the competition ranking first in the forty, the vertical, and broad jump displaying his explosion and athleticism. Wirfs tied the combine record for the broad jump and broke the record for the vertical jump.

In addition to that he finished top 10 in the three cone drill and 20-yard shuttle.

A small school name to keep an eye on going forward is Danny Pinter from Ball State.  Pinter had himself a good night with one of three sub five second forty times from the offensive line group.  Pinter also finished sixth in the three cone and second in the 20-yard shuttle.

Here is a breakdown of some of the key categories for the offensive linemen Friday.

Bench Press

Netane Muti from Fresno State blew away the competition in the bench press, putting up an incredible 44 reps of 225 pounds. Nearly all of the top-10 in this category are not projected to go in the first round this April, but a lot can change from now until the 2020 NFL Draft gets started.

  1. Muti, Netane, Fresno St., 44
  2. Stepaniak, Simon, Indiana, 37
  3. Simpson, John, Clemson, 34
  4. Hanson, Jake, Oregon, 33

40-yard dash
