Kyle Dugger

As a former Division II player, it can be difficult to stand out among the other, more well-known draft prospects. However, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Kyle Dugger garnered some attention and managed to make a name for himself at the Senior Bowl. In Indianapolis, he continued to impress and climb up the draft boards.

Dugger nearly leaped out of Lucas Oil Stadium as he recorded the highest vertical jump among safeties at 42 inches and his 134.0-inch broad jump was the second-longest. He showed off some decent speed too by finishing sixth in the 40-yard dash with a time of 4.49 seconds.

Of course, the small school product will have to prove he can hang with the big boys at the next level, but he’s certainly off to a hot start.

The defensive back came into the combine ranked 87th on The Draft Network’s big board and 97th on CBS’s, so he could be an option for Gruden and Mayock in the third round. Although, that’s assuming his status doesn’t elevate as we move closer to the draft.

For the Raiders’ sake, hopefully, Dugger’s stock doesn’t rise too much as the team could use a versatile safety, especially since Vic Tafur reported the team still views Lamarcus Joyner as a slot corner and will let Karl Joseph enter the open market.
