C.J. Henderson
After Ohio State’s Jeff Okudah, there is some ambiguity about who the second-best cornerback in this draft class is. Some analysts have given that distinction to Florida’s C.J. Henderson and after his performance in Indy, others may start to jump on board.
Henderson’s 40-time of 4.39 seconds tied for the second-fastest at the position group and his 37.5-inch vertical jump was good enough to finish in the top-five. His impressive day went beyond the measurables and continued into the position drills as NFL Networks’ Daniel Jeremiah said the former Gator was the “best mover out there.”
The analyst would go on to say that Henderson might end up going in the top 15 of the draft, which is an improvement as Jeremiah had the cornerback ranked 24th overall before the combine.
According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Las Vegas will let pending free agent cornerback Daryl Worley test the market and addressing the position will be a priority this offseason. If Gruden and Mayock strike out on any of the big names in free agency, look for Henderson to be on their radar in April.
From his profile on NFL.com, one of the Florida Product’s weaknesses is he has a tendency to lose sight of his receiver in zone coverage, which will have to change to fit into Paul Guenther’s scheme, but Henderson’s athletic ability might be too good to pass up.
