  • Pick No. 12: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
  • Pick No. 19 (From Chicago Bears): Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

Forget all the noise about Tom Brady going to Las Vegas to be their franchise quarterback, in Josh Edwards’ recent mock for CBSSports.com, he has the Silver and Black going young at the position. The pick for the team at No. 12 is Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, who, for some reason, falls out of the top-10 in this recent mock draft by Edwards.

Herbert is one of the better quarterbacks in this draft class, and with so many quarterback-needy teams ahead of the Raiders, I do not believe he is still here at No. 12. Besides, the Raiders are looking to win immediately in Las Vegas, and as a rookie, Herbert does not help them do that.

At No. 19, the Raiders address a real need, bringing in the physical wide receiver out of Clemson, Tee Higgins. This is a guy who can flat out go up and get the ball, and on this Raiders offense, he slides right in at WR1 ahead of Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow. His addition gives the Raiders a strong trio at the top of the depth chart at wide receiver.
