2020 NFL Draft mock roundup: Las Vegas Raiders trade up for Herbert

A.J. Fagerlin, NFL Mocks

  • Pick No. 8 (From Arizona Cardinals: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
  • Pick No. 19 (From Chicago Bears): Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

In his latest mock draft for NFL Mocks, A.J. Fagerlin has the Raiders moving up to get their new franchise quarterback at No. 8 overall. The trade with the Arizona Cardinals sends the No. 12, 81, and a second round pick in 2021 for the four-spot move, and with the trade, they bring in Justin Herbert from Oregon.

While this is an unlikely scenario as well, as the Raiders have too many needs to package picks to move up four spots to get a quarterback, it does place Herbert in the top-10, where he will likely go this April. If the Raiders are going to move up, it will be much earlier in round one, where they will target either an elite wideout or a star defensive talent.

At pick No. 19, the Raiders address a need in their secondary, and that is adding talent around second-year cornerback Trayvon Mullen. Kristian Fulton is the third-best cornerback in this draft class in my opinion behind Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson, and would be a solid CB2 for this team as a rookie. Even with Fulton, they have a lot of work to do at corner.
