The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly interested in signing Marcus Mariota and just like any roster move, there are pros and cons that should be explored.

The quarterback rumor mill has landed on its next subject with the Las Vegas Raiders being linked with a move for free agent Marcus Mariota. The former Titan finished out his rookie contract in Tennessee and is now one of the hot commodities on the open market.

Mariota was the unquestioned starter for nearly five years after being selected 2nd overall in 2015 but lost his job to Ryan Tannehill last year after a brutal loss to the Broncos in Week 6. Tannehill was an instant success and after helping the Titans reach the AFC Championship, it was clear there was no place for Mariota.

The Raiders, depending on who you believe and what your opinion is of current starter Derek Carr, are either in the market for a starter or a veteran backup who will bolster the position group. Aside from the sensational links to Tom Brady, this is the first report of a quarterback the Raiders are supposedly interested in that has a name attached to it and would be a logical move for a number of reasons.

So with the rumors swirling, let’s take a dive in to the pros and cons of bringing the former Oregon Duck to Las Vegas.
