Troy Pride, like his teammate Chase Claypool, has raised his stock greatly recently. Pride had a great combine, running a 4.4-second forty-yard dash, making his name much more known. Pride has a good size, as well as great athleticism.
Unfortunately, his abilities do not always translate to the field. Assuming the Raiders bring in a top free-agent CB this offseason to pair with Trayvon Mullen, Pride would be a great player to bring in and develop considering how high his upside and potential is.
The Raiders finish off their draft by adding some size to the defensive line with 300 lb defensive tackle Tyler Clark from Georgia. Clark’s massive frame can clog the middle and be another piece to stop the run for the Raiders, as well as having a decent ability to get in the backfield and create a pass rush.
Maurice Hurst and P.J. Hall played very well in Year 2 in 2019, and the Raiders also have Johnathan Hankins under contract at the position. Adding Clark would enable the Raiders to continue to add big bodies up front, and if he has to be a practice squad guy to start out, there is enough depth along the defensive line for the team to go that route.
