The Las Vegas Raiders could land a dynamic wide receiver with the No. 12 overall pick, and we take a look at both Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb.
If you were searching for a silver lining from the 2019 season for the Las Vegas Raiders, look no further than the rookie class. Even with an up and down season from fourth overall pick, Clelin Ferrell and the season ending injury in week one to Johnathan Abram, the class was highly productive.
Josh Jacobs and Maxx Crosby were both in the running for rookie of the year. Hunter Renfrow and Foster Moreau proved to be reliable weapons for Derek Carr. Trayvon Mullen flashed signs of being a shutdown corner, and of course you can’t forget undrafted rookies Alec Ingold and A.J. Cole.
The Raiders took a huge step in the right direction last season. With a strong foundation in place, Mike Mayock is looking to follow up his stellar 2019 draft class by stacking on another one in 2020.
Heading into free agency and the draft one of the biggest needs on the roster is at wide receiver. Luckily for the Raiders, it’s a good year to be in the market for a receiver.
This years class is being hailed as one of the deepest and most talented groups in the last 20 years. If you are a team who is in need of a play maker at receiver there is no excuse not to find one in this years draft.
The consensus among draft experts is that the Raiders will use the first (12th overall) of their two first round picks on a wide receiver. There is a very good chance that the top two receiver prospects will be available, Jerry Jeudy of Alabama and CeeDee Lamb of Oklahoma.
Differentiating these two is like splitting hairs. They both offer skill sets that would provide the Raiders offense with an immediate upgrade at the position. Raider nation is torn over who they would prefer to see don the silver and black.
So the question is, if you were the one calling the shots for the Raiders, which receiver are you selecting with the 12th overall pick?
Below, I’ve made the case for the Raiders to draft either one of these game breakers.
