Las Vegas Raiders pre-free agency 7-round mock draft

The run on quarterbacks and offensive tackles was good to the Las Vegas Raiders as those positions accounted for 6 of the first 11 picks. With the Arizona Cardinals taking Oklahoma Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb eighth overall, the Silver and Black snag Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy.

Las Vegas’s need for a wideout is paramount and Jeudy is arguably the best in this draft class. He’s a polished route runner with good top-end speed to stretch the field vertically and was very productive in an offense that had a lot of mouths feed. The 2018 Biletnikoff Award winner racked up 159 catches for 2,742 yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Another player who I considered at this spot was Jeudy’s collegiate teammate, Henry Ruggs III. While the later has gained some popularity in recent weeks, personally, I like Jeudy a little more because he’s a better route runner and more of a number one receiver, in my opinion. Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown was another viable option but the pass-catcher gives the Raiders an elite player and fills a bigger need.
