The Las Vegas Raiders continued to add to their defense this offseason by signing Maliek Collins, who will be the man to unlock the pass rush in 2020.
Arguably the biggest acquisition this off-season for the Las Vegas Raiders defense was the hiring of Rod Marinelli to coach the team’s defensive line. Marinelli is widely considered to be the best defensive line coach in football and re-joins Jon Gruden from their days together in Tampa Bay.
Marinelli’s presence surely was a big reason why former Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins joined the Raiders this off-season. After spending the first four seasons of his career under Marinelli’s tutelage in Dallas, Collins figures to continue to develop into an interior penetrator as a Raider.
However, Collins has never posted incredible box score production. The impact that Collins makes likely will be a residual one that helps free up the rest of his defensive line teammates.
