Bears . James Lynch. 81. player. 860. . Defensive Lineman

Weighing in at 289 pounds, James Lynch is consider as a bit of a tweener.  Throughout his career at Baylor his played up and down the line, his versatility will allow Paul Guenther get creative on passing situations.

Lynch had a breakout junior season (13.5 sacks/19.5 tackles for loss) playing primarily on the edge (562 snaps outside the tackle)

His best trait is his engine, which runs red hot.  He is relentless in pursuit and has the toughness you love to see in the trenches.  Lynch has a thick build and possess raw power.  He is effective on stunts when he can build up his speed.  He has shown good use of his hands to fight off offensive lineman.

One area of concern is his win rate as an interior rusher versus the edge is night and day.  With Ferrell, Crosby, Key, and Nassib penciled in as your edge rushers, Lynch’s best opportunity to get on the field is rushing from the interior.

He will be used as part of a rotation, adding depth to the defensive line.
