2. Prince Amukamara, Chicago Bears
Prince Amukamara was released by the cash-strapped Chicago Bears in a cap-relief move and has been a starting-caliber corner by any measure in recent years. In three years with the Bears the former Nebraska Cornhusker recorded three interceptions, 29 passes defended, and three forced fumbles. He has been relatively durable as well, playing in at least 14 games and on the field for 80% of the defensive snaps since 2016 which is acceptable for a position with such high turnover.
The concerns around Amukamara at this stage in his career is if he is still good enough to start or if the talented Bears defensive line masked some of his deficiencies. In 2018 where the Bears defense was the best in the NFL, he allowed a passer rating of just 75.3 and a completion percentage of 57.3. Those numbers jumped in 2019 to 105.2 and 66.2 respectively so the concerns are certainly valid.
At this point in free agency most of the big fish have been snatched up and the Raiders could certainly do worse than Amukamara. He will likely be available for a discount as he is over 30 and had a less than stellar year in 2019.
