Las Vegas Raiders: 10 free agent options at cornerback

3. Bashaud Breeland, Kansas City Chiefs

Bashaud Breeland has been a bit of a journeyman in recent years as he is likely going to end up on his fourth team in four years. After being drafted in the 4th round by the Redskins in 2014, Breeland spent four years in Washington and started at least 14 games a season there.

With the exception of a pit stop in Green Bay in 2018 he has been a consistent starter including with the Chiefs in 2019. He has also recorded at least one interception a season in his career which is great consistency from a non-elite cornerback.

Breeland had a solid 2019 season for a Chiefs defense that struggled at times, allowing just a 48.4 completion percentage though he tends to get beat deep, allowing 18 yards per completion. The other knock on him is his tendency to commit penalties as he lead the Chiefs with nine in 2019 including three defensive pass interferences. The Raiders are already magnets for the yellow flags so they may be playing with fire by bringing in Breeland.

The upside for Breeland is that he is still quite young at 28-years-old and that sets him apart from many of the other cornerbacks available on the market. He may be looking for a long-term deal at this point in his career but the well is drying up and could be willing to settle for less at this point in free agency.
