5. Detroit Lions (via trade): Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State

The Detroit Lions trade back knowing that they will still be able to get their guy, as Jeffrey Okudah is the best cornerback in the 2020 NFL Draft and will be a great replacement to Darius Slay. The Lions pass defense last season was horrendous, and although the team has multiple holes on their team, having the best corner in the draft on their roster is huge.

When Darius Slay was in his prime, he was the staple of the defense, and that role now belongs to Jeff Okudah. Add to the fact they have already brought in Desmond Trufant, the Lions cornerback room gets upgraded even without Slay.

6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The Los Angeles Chargers find Philip Rivers replacement right away, as they select Justin Herbert, a dynamic quarterback that can bring a new skill set to their offense. Herbert had an incredible senior season for the Oregon Ducks, throwing for 32 touchdowns against just six interceptions.

Herbert will be put in a position to succeed immediately in LA, given a loaded defense along with solid weapons on offense. Sure, Tyrod Taylor is a serviceable NFL quarterback, but Herbert is a special player, and he was made for Los Angeles.

7. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn

Although the Carolina Panthers could add Isaiah Simmons here, they decide to build their defensive line, adding the best interior defensive lineman in the draft with Derrick Brown. Brown is a massive force in the middle of the line that not only is an incredible run stopper, but also can get to the quarterback and can move around on the defensive line.

The Panthers had an awful run defense last season, and Brown helps fix that right away. In an offense-happy NFC South, the Panthers build up their defense, giving them a chance to get out of the cellar in 2020.

8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa

Kyler Murray should be able to improve on an impressive rookie season in the NFL, as the Arizona Cardinals give him arguably the best receiver in the league via trade, as well as adding a great offensive tackle in the first round. There are many tackles that the Cardinals could take here, but they go with Tristan Wirfs over some of the other talent.

This pick will depend on which tackle the Cardinals have at the top of their board, but with the addition of Deandre Hopkins, wide receiver should not even be a question anymore. Arizona shocked some teams last season, and in a deep NFC West, they may make even more of a mark next season.
