Wide Receiver

From the moment last season ended until now, the number one need for the Raiders has not changed. Even with the addition of Nelson Agholor in free agency, the receiving corps is desperate for a legitimate threat who will command the attention of opposing defenses.

This year’s free agency class did not have that guy, but the 2020 draft class is another story. The crop of pass catchers coming out in April’s draft is touted as the best we’ve had in 20 years, and the Raiders will have two chances to capitalize on it in the first round.

The three names that are atop of many wide receiver ranking lists are Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III, and also Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb. There is a very good possibility that when the Raiders select at pick 12 all three of those men will be available for the taking, as the needs of the teams picking before them are mostly outside of the position group.

Whom Gruden and Mayock prefer, well, that is anyone’s guess but one thing is for certain, whichever of the three they select it will be an immediate upgrade to the offense.
